"Falling into Place" - Woodcut Block Print
"Falling Into Place" was part of an art installation project in the community. It was inspired by tough times that were experienced by people at a local refugee. After fleeing their countries to come to the United States, many people had faced violence and uncertainty but escaped it for good. With this in mind, I designed this piece using the phrase, "When things are falling apart, they may actually be falling into place." This phrase proves to be accurate every day and serves as a reminder that everything happens for a reason. I hope this print can help you and others grow into optimism and see the bright side of every situation.
This print is part of a black and white series of 15 using this block. After hand carving a piece of wood, oil-basedink was hand-rolled on the block and hand printed on paper. This print was especially challenging because the letters had to be carved backwards and in reverse, so they would print in the correct direction.

None of my prints are printed by any machine. They are all designed by me, hand-carved, and hand printed. It is a time-consuming and difficult process, but it is a labor of love. I hope you appreciate the traditional art form of printmaking as much as I love the making-process.
This print is shipped without a frame. A 2-3 inch border remains around the piece to be trimmed to your exact framing needs. Please let me know if you have any questions.
