Handmade Ceramics by Natalie Crenwelge.
Hello!
Welcome to NEC Designs Ceramics. My name is Natalie, and I am a full-time student and part-time ceramicist. I make all of my products by hand at my home studio in Dallas, TX.
My creations focus on functionality and aesthetics. I have a firm belief that handmade items elevate our everyday routine as humans.
Using a handmade coffee pour-over and mug creates a new, special, and enjoyable experience around that single action versus the mass-produced alternatives. When using handmade products, we enjoy the process and the product itself. We gain a valuable appreciation and connection to the products we choose to surround ourselves with.
My Values
When starting NEC Designs Ceramics, creating an ethically-based company was very important to me. Therefore, I work hard to create beautiful quality products that will last multiple lifetimes.
Sustainability is very important to me and our world's future, so I do my part by only reusing old packing materials, such as packaged air, Styrofoam peanuts, and bubble wrap, to ship my orders with instead of buying new materials to eventually be discarded. All other materials I use are fully recyclable.
My Products
All of my products are made by hand over the span of weeks, and sometimes months. I am a maker of all things! I love to dabble in all areas, so you will find a range of items from ceramics to tea towels to jewelry. Since each piece is handcrafted, they are all unique and special. I believe in making products of high quality that will last a lifetime, so each piece is treated with the utmost care and attention as I bring it to life.
All ceramics are microwave, dishwasher, food, and oven safe unless otherwise stated!
Me
I began my ceramics journey in 2015 as a sophomore in high school. I took a few ceramics classes, fell in love with it, and began going to the studio during any free chance I had.
During my junior year, I began selling artwork and ceramics at Good Local Markets on Saturdays with some of my classmates. By the end of senior year, I accepted the fact that I wouldn't be able to continue my hobby (and side hustle) after graduation, since I wouldn't have access to the tools and materials needed to do so.
Imagine my surprise when my dad found a free (yes, free!) kiln listing from someone in our neighborhood. We lucked out and brought the kiln home after another person, who had initially claimed the piece, failed to show up to collect the kiln.
Now that I had a way to fire my pottery and finish pieces, everything else fell into place. I bought a new pottery wheel and have slowly acquired more supplies over the years.
I continued to sell at the market throughout college and expanded online as the 2020 pandemic hit hard. During lockdown, I improved the quality of my ceramics by 1000%, grew my product line, and began sharing my creations with all of you across the nation!
Now I am continuing with my online shop in hopes to share my ceramics with people who don't live near me. I still sell locally at a few locations, and I am excited to see where my journey takes me next.

I believe handmade objects beautify our homes and create a methodical approach to everyday tasks and meal times.
