Recycled Glass Coaster (88)
This coaster is made on the potter's wheel with stoneware clay. After making the ceramic coaster, I take old glass bottles and break them up to make little glass pieces.
After glazing these coasters, I sprinkle the glass pieces over the surface. The glass melts down in the kiln, once it reaches around 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, and smooths out to create the crackled effect you see.
These coasters are approximately 4-4.5" diameter and work well as a coaster, jewelry dish, or small planter drip tray. Each coaster is complete with felt feet on the bottom to prevent scratching any wood surface.
